Emergence

Emergence by Bridget Cameron

I’ve been getting rid of clutter from my life, letting go of unnecessary things that only weigh me down. It is something that I like to do as frequently as I can.  Each time I let go of things,  I feel lighter and more focused upon the things that I really enjoy doing.

Sometimes even, I find lost treasures, things that I had forgotten about. Today, I discovered this painting of mine, that has been hiding in the shadows collecting cobwebs, and it filled me with such joy, that I’ve hung it in my bedroom!

It’s quite fitting that it is a newly emerged butterfly, the symbol of freedom! 🙂 ❤

Triangular stars

“Gently close your eyes and feel your phosphenes, when none is there to feel you.”  Naren Yousuf

I’m in my mental laboratory creating magic. You know when you close and rub your eyes and you see beautiful patterns and colours that morph; that is what I have tried to emulate.

What causes these patterns? Phosphenes are the moving visual sensations of stars and patterns we see when we close our eyes. They are thought to be caused by the inherent electrical charges the retina produces even when it is in its “resting state” and not taking in a ton of information and light like it does when our eyes are open.

I  just love the multiple patterns and colours phosphenes produce, with a a little help from our imaginations .

“The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” Mahatma Gandhi

2018, is officially the Year of the Bird, and this week 22-28 October is also National Bird Week here and in other countries too, so I’ve written this poem to respect and protect birds! 🙂 ❤

Our Bird Friends

Song birds, pretty birds, birds in flight,

Messengers, ambassadors, bringers of light,

The joy within is what you ignite.

They torch the embers in our souls,

As they ascend on thermals and then roll,

Adjusting to what is, within the flow,

In the moment, embracing the highs and the lows,

Reeling and soaring feeling what blows,

Lifting and making our spirits soar and grow.

Birds of colour, birds of light,

Your palette brings us a glorious sight,

Scarlet, orange, yellow, aqua,  gold, white,

Black, vermilion, cobalt and purple gleaming bright,

In Iris’s rainbow expression both day and night,

Arching across city and country with wings in flight.

Birds of chatter, birds of song and seer,

You delight and intrigue and bring us cheer,

and remind us of all we hold dear.

Your orchestral melodies, elates our hearts and our ears,

and, invites nature’s symphonies loud and clear,

Together as ONE, singing out across all spheres.

Whether birds are in a tree, that’s nice,

Or on the ground, sea, sky or crevice,

You remind us that you rule the ‘skies’ paradise,

and have a rightful place in our cities, forests, seas and on ice.

So let’s say, “Hip, Hip, Hooray,” thrice.

And, protect you and us before we pay the price.

Translators, communicators, travelers both near and far,

You bring us beauty, joy and sing upon the wind and stars,

Bird magicians and friends are what you are…

Blood moon and Mars encounter brings in a new dawn.

“Each time dawn appears, the mystery is there in its entirety.”  Rene Daumal

On the morning of 28 July 2018, myself, and lucky observers around the globe, witnessed a once-in-a-lifetime meeting in the sky: the longest “blood moon” eclipse of the 21st century, flanked by a big, brilliant Mars as it heads toward its closest approach to Earth since 2003.

Mars and blood moon 28 July 2018

I especially enjoyed watching the lunar eclipse, as the atmosphere was really ‘still’ and quiet. This silence pervaded all, as the eclipse slowly unfolded within the night.

As the moon turned blood red and was in darkness, a kookaburra broke the silence and announced a new dawn, as the moon slowly began to brighten again, and a new day dawned.

Heart’s Dream

( Dedicated to the love that unites us all)

Before we can return to the light from whence we came,

We must come to terms with the instinctive flow of the universe.

heart

Surf, surf, the waves of life,

up, down, up, down,

swirl in, swirl out, swoosh.

Rip curl, surfing hollow tubes,

tunnel of water flows around me,

I see light all ‘round me.

What an adventure,

a journey through space,

we are time travelers warped by vibration.

In, out, in, out,

up, down, up, down,

wind rides my body,

Fire in my heart!

As morning broke, I lay on the soft green grass in my garden,

Naked under an azure sky, thinking of you,

My Mother of my physicality, Heart of the Earth.

Together, we emote in lovers’ embrace, beloved song of my Heart.

Deep down, I feel your grief, your loss, your suffering, caused by us.

The ocean and land is dying, the ozone is being depleted, the mass extinction of

Animals and plants, that can never be replaced.

This torments and saddens me, so deeply, intensely and intimately.

I hurt, my heart breaks, and I cry deep tears of sorrow and loss :(…

I also feel your joy and celebration, and know that you feel me too.

With body pressed heavily to Earth, I feel, that,

this is the purpose of our physicality.

Our ruby lips joined in sensuality,

our presence in the moment.

Together we embrace the passing of time,

Experiencing nature’s ebb and flow, as seasons come and go.

In this I am most grateful and thankful to you. I love you <3.

Heart love by Bridget Cameron

Am I a flower in a field of weeds, or a weed in a field of flowers?

Or, am I just growing towards the light like everybody else?

We come with love and joy in our Hearts, to this Earth,

So often a place of pain, disappointment and suffering.

We feel the full gamut of emotions, the love, the joy,

The trauma, the agony and the fragility of our mortality.

We come to learn, to experience, to grieve, to let go of,

This beautiful Life, such Grace,

This painful World, such Tragedy.

Within the paradox I embraced the hope that grief gives us. That is,

The wonder, the magnificence, the miracle of life!

Life that is given to us from the death of stars, for

We are made from the elements created from the heart of dying stars!

And, the recognition that we are more than just flesh,

United we are, within the heart beat that connects everything,

To the threads of consciousness that ignites the cosmic breath.

For, when our final curtain closes,

our elements are recycled back to the Earth, and

our consciousness back to the eternal hum,

as we embrace our new Heart’s Dream journey,

upon the waves of love. It is, love without end… amour sans fin…

Cosmic Weaver

“Tis true without lying, certain and most true. That which is below, is like that which is above, and that which is above is like that which is below.” Isaac Newton

This adage is traditionally attributed to the Emerald Tablets of Hermes Trismegistus.

Australian garden orb weaver spider (Eriophora transmarina) and full moon

I’ve always been fascinated by the symbolism of spiders as master weavers of  destinies, and language, and the similarity of stories between different nations.  She is often called the mother of language and a great storyteller as she weaves her language upon her loom.

Spider’s web is akin to a mandala, the Sanskrit meaning of mandala is circle. The circle is a symbol of perfection, eternity, unity and completeness, and the mandala  is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the universe. In Hindu and Buddhist traditions, the centre represents the beginning point of contemplation of and devotion to the divine.

Creating mandalas help the focusing of attention of practitioners and adepts, and as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space, as an aid to meditation and trance induction. In ancient Greek and Roman traditions this central point often signified the self, as it is in Jungian psychology too. It is always at the centre in which we find our calm, and heart- centred sacred space!

Sri-Yantra- mandala

Spiders have the extraordinary capability of creating, weaving and spinning their own webs. This ability shows and teaches us the gift of creation. We have the power to create what happens in our lives, to us and to others, by the choices we make. Consequently, we create our own reality according to our thoughts, feelings, actions, and reactions, and we make an impact upon the world and universe through our presence.

Existentially, the connection between spider and her web and the cosmos too, is intrinsically and extrinsically linked, as we are all connected through the heartfelt strings of love, the filaments of cosmic web.  They help remind us of our inter-connectedness to all life! Spider is thus, the cosmic weaver, in a cosmic web of universal galaxies. Awesome!  🙂 ❤

Super Blue Blood Moon!

What a treat last night! For the first time in 152 years, there was a supermoon,
bluemoon, and a total lunar eclipse :) .

It was overcast for much of the eclipse here in Adelaide, South Australia, and I watched mostly behind veiled clouds, which made the transformation appear more mysterious. From super full moon’s brightest haloed light, to the gradually… darkening and disappearing moon; that then changed into blood red, rusty iron oxide red!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Slowly, the moon became more orange/yellow and brightened, as the Earth’s shadow leisurely departed, and the eclipse came to a close leaving a bright Supermoon.

I was fortunate in capturing some clear images when the clouds dissipated briefly from time to time. This is what I saw! I hope you enjoy…   Did anyone else get to see it? ❤ 🙂

Into the Night

Into the Night

As darkening peachy clouds mourn their day’s goodbye,

and Venus our ‘evening star’ shines her light into the Sky,

as the slowly rising moon bathes us in soft luminescence, we sigh,

and watch her move slowly, way, way, up high,

as we surrender silently to the day that has passed us by,

and go boldly into the night, aye!

Little things matter

Cabbage White Butterfly (Pieris rapae) drinks nectar from onion weed.

How often do we dismiss the ‘little things’, especially if they are common?  In our busy lives, we often forget to ‘stop and to smell the flowers’.  It’s a shame, because there is so much intricate and delicate beauty in the smallest life, and this vulnerability deserves respect!

I went for a walk along a local creek, and found a shady spot to listen to bird and insect choruses. It was here, that I watched this butterfly dance and feed upon the flowers. It was such simple delight!  🙂  ❤

Peace Dove manifests a better world!

DOVE OF PEACE (c) 2004 Bridget Cameron

We are what we think and feel. Energy and information builds consciousness. Our beliefs, intentions and actions create our reality. We build our world as we go… We Increase our self-awareness by looking within, and connecting with our heart/emotions and our light!

Light = information/love

Darkness= lack of information/fear

By embracing our heart and the light within, we increase our vibration and consciousness, and take our power back. Then, we become the master of ourselves!

Take time out everyday to meditate and connect to your heart.  Don’t just accept things at face value, check to evaluate the validity of your beliefs and what you expose yourself to. If they don’t make much sense or no longer serve you, change them! You are in control of your own thoughts and reality!

If we all have amazing thoughts, feelings and actions then we will have an amazing world! Let’s aim for love and peace, and create the best reality we can together, for we are all ONE! Let’s choose LOVE!  🙂 ❤

Adapting to the Changing Fortunes of Time.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

PEACE ROSE

Adapting to the Changing Fortunes of Time

The key to most of the world’s problems can be resolved through overcoming ‘poverty/scarcity consciousness’ or greed. This needs to be addressed across all classes of people, and especially the very wealthy who often perpetuate ‘global atrocities’ by being greedy(wanting the lion’s share) and by being ‘power-hungry’. True power is being in control of oneself, it has nothing to do about controlling others or resources!

We need to address what is truly valuable, reorient our way of doing things and being, by embracing the attitude that there is enough for all, and by caring for ourselves and others. Then, we will want to share and care for the planet and greed will no longer bind us.

This can only happen through changing ourselves, by embracing our ‘hearts’, not being dictated by our egos ‘heads’, and by being free of fear! But, how do we do this?

Change must come from within. Only when we work on our ‘inner selves’ do we feel the effects of change.

The fallacy that money is standard for character, and that lasting happiness will result from wealth and position, must be dispelled. There is no amount of money in the world that will give a person true self-esteem. This can only be achieved by living in harmony, in balance with life.

True peace of mind can’t be bought. It can be earned by creating good in all areas of our lives. This of course has nothing to do with money.

Life is full of change and to expect things to stay the same is ludicrous. We must learn to flow with the changing fortunes of time. Why become hysterical, angry or depressed about the things that we cannot control?

People often resist change and often do not know how to change gracefully, for we are not educated to know.  Many instead become locked into the familiar, controlled like puppets by the media, government, education, religion and familial programs; forever looking outside of themselves for answers. Anything out of the ordinary seems intimidating and many react negatively to anything that does not fit the ‘status quo’ or societal and familial programs that run without question. Learn from experiences and question things, for how else can we truly know something?

Money is freedom if a person has developed the wisdom to be detached from it. Money is merely an exchange of energy, it is nothing more! A secure person can live with or without it, and that is true freedom.

The key is to be grateful for what we have! 🙂 Also,  to trust that our needs will be provided, even if this means that sometimes we have to go without. This however, should be accepted without any drama, as part of the ebb and flow of life.

Adaptability, depends on having a strong sense that the circumstances of life are presented for our growth. If a person attracts a situation, it is because they need to learn something. No matter how bad things appear to be, it will pass and time heals.

This simple exercise below is designed to help you if you are overwhelmed by financial worries. I have taken this from Mary T. Browne’s book, The power of Karma, pg 186 .

1. Ask yourself, “ how many hours a day do I spend thinking about money, and how many do I spend thinking about my spiritual development.?” Write down the answer. Ask ourself this question and record your answers, for the next seven days.

If at the end of a week you realise that your finances dominate your thinking, consume most of your time and energy and leave you exhausted, it’s time to adapt your focus. Obviously you are not spending enough time on things of the spirit. You may be wondering how this adaptation is achieved.

2. Adjust your thinking. Simply raise your consciousness to think about things that
promote balance. A few examples are friendship, love, nature, music and most important serving others.

3. Take a few minutes as many times during the day as you can to focus the mind on elements of spiritual beauty.

4. At the end of each day jot down a few words to let yourself know how you are
feeling.

If your intentions are true, in time you will be amazed to find that worry has been replaced by greater harmony. These treasures are not physical but spiritual. They can’t be affected by the fluctuations in financial markets. They are available to everyone at all times! Once this adjustment has taken place, you will fell a significant change in your disposition. Worry and ‘scarcity consciousness’ will have been replaced by a greater peace of mind, the gift of sharing and happiness 🙂 .

Superb Fairy Wren (Malurus cyaneus)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’ve been trying to capture the image of one of these beautiful birds for such a long time, almost as long as my memory serves me. They are quite rare and to catch the  fleeting aqua/blue as they fly past is quite extraordinary. It is only the male fairy wrens that have the bright blue aqua plumage, and only when they are breeding. When they are not breeding, they take on the brown colours of the female wren, although parading a blue/purple tail.  Males are usually found with females, as they are socially monogamous. The females brown plumage support a blue tail and they have red feathers around the eyes.

AUSTRALIAN RESEARCHERS HAVE DISCOVERED that crafty fairy-wrens can understand and respond to the danger calls of other birds, suggesting that they have an advanced level of awareness about the world around them. For more information about this, please read this article at Australian Geographic.

Fairy-wrens eavesdrop to avert danger.

p.s. Most images of superb fairy wrens have been enhanced to a more cyan/blue colour, yet their plumage in reality is closer to the photograph that I have taken above. I hope you enjoy his image!  I most certainly do… :).
