Feasting Bee

I was observing the layers of flowers,

within a newly headed rosette bloom,

when I chanced upon a bee feasting,

and dance upon the blooms.

Her  labor was a tune , bzzz bzzz,

her idleness a boon, and

collecting all that nectar

was a joyful thing to do.  🙂

SPARKLY SEA

As the shimmering Sea

Sparkles

The more it is exposed

To the sun’s glorious rays

So too

Is our consciousness

More illuminated

When we direct it

Towards the LIGHT!

Gorgeous Sunset

“A beautiful sunset that was mistaken for a dawn.” Claude Debussy.

I am always thankful for the beauty that nature unfolds, changing as it does from moment to moment. I take great pleasure in saying farewell to the passing of each day, as each reflection presents a new picture upon the canvas of life. Nature is certainly the greatest artist indeed! 🙂 ❤

ODE TO BEAUTIFUL SUN ORCHIDS

Gently swaying in the breeze,

Your faces follow the warm sunlight.

With bright pink sparkled sepals you please,

You are a magnificent sight!

You are a feast to my eyes that you feed,

And, you fill my heart with wondrous delight.

Your simplicity and fragility are rare indeed,

And, to care and protect you is absolutely right!

Thank you sweet orchids for your beauty and ease,

You are certainly a pleasure, it is your birthright…

I love galahs!

” When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul.”  Anthony Douglas Williams.

The galah (Eolophus roseicapilla) also known as the rose-breasted cockatoo.

I heard a familiar  ‘wuaaaaaaawk’, and looked out my bedroom window and watched quietly as a couple of galahs rested in the tall blue gum tree in my front garden. They knew that I was there, and for a while quietly observed me :).

i-can-see-you-sfe-by-bridget-cameron

They apparently didn’t mind my intrusion and before long they continued with their antics, hanging upside down, feeding, playing and munching on wood.

superb-cocky-sfe-by-bridget-cameron

The term galah is derived from gilaa, a word found in Yuwaalaraay and neighbouring Aboriginal languages, and colloquially we call them ‘cockies’.

It was utterly captivating and delightful watching them and I felt most privileged and blessed as they had allowed me into their precious lives, and hearts. 🙂 ❤

Into the Night

Into the Night

As darkening peachy clouds mourn their day’s goodbye,

and Venus our ‘evening star’ shines her light into the Sky,

as the slowly rising moon bathes us in soft luminescence, we sigh,

and watch her move slowly, way, way, up high,

as we surrender silently to the day that has passed us by,

and go boldly into the night, aye!

Peace on the Eve of 2017

As we say goodbye to 2016,  and welcome in 2017, this is a good time to stop and relax and reflect upon the year in passing, and to find the calm and silence within.

To be as still and calm as this tranquil lake, brings peace and awareness, as still waters run deep. I feel grateful to have experienced natures’ bounties on this the Eve of 2017!

I send much love and peace for 2017. May we all find calm and places of great beauty. Blessings to all, Bridget 🙂 ❤

Little things matter

Cabbage White Butterfly (Pieris rapae) drinks nectar from onion weed.

How often do we dismiss the ‘little things’, especially if they are common?  In our busy lives, we often forget to ‘stop and to smell the flowers’.  It’s a shame, because there is so much intricate and delicate beauty in the smallest life, and this vulnerability deserves respect!

I went for a walk along a local creek, and found a shady spot to listen to bird and insect choruses. It was here, that I watched this butterfly dance and feed upon the flowers. It was such simple delight!  🙂  ❤

Ocean Womb

This is an old poem that I want to share with you!  It is the experience I had just after exchanging vows with my beloved. All of nature joined in to share our joy, and for one hour or so, I swam with the dolphins and heard the most beautiful music.

Sea Dance by Bridget Cameron

OCEAN WOMB

Looking out towards the ocean from the crest in the dune where I stand, I see an expanse of water that continues as far as the horizon. Where the water meets the sand, waves break, producing foaming froth, as the sea sparkles her brilliance at me. From the froth I visualise Botticelli’s, Birth of Venus as she rides on her shell towards me.

I walk a little further until I reach the beach and sit in quiet contemplation, marvelling many of nature’s secrets, until an urge draws me into the whispering sea…

I splash, I bathe, I run, I skip, I swirl, I swim, I am embraced. I feel like a child wrapped in the arm s of a loving Mother, nurtured and loved we unite as one. She sings to me, she clothes me, I am the seed within her liquid womb.

Small colourful fish swim with me, kissing my body ever so gently, and lead me to an oasis of dolphins dreaming. Two streams of dolphins unite to create future magic. I become part of their dreaming and recall the unfolding of nature’s celestial tunes within the cathedral of my heart. Such ecstasy and beauty fill me, as I ride the rippling diamond sea upon the dolphins’ breath.

The heavens open sprinkling the earth as waves caress my body and land me upon the shore. Standing upright a rainbow bridge joins a golden setting sun and a rising silvery moon.

THANK YOU!

Beautiful Flame Robin

The flame robin (Petroica phoenicea).

I went for a walk in a Eucalyptus forest and met up with a beautiful Flame Robin (often called, robin redbreast) when I was on Bruny Island, Tasmania. He sang, and posed and watched me intensely -communicating with heart- before heading off to munch on some insects. It was a real treat! 🙂

The Milky Way

When I was on Bruny Island( off the coast of South-Eastern Tasmania) I took the opportunity – with its low population and thus low light pollution, the dark of the moon and a black-out- to take a photo of the awesome Milky Way! I stood in awe of its majesty and beauty; it is so humbling, and so wonderful to be part of it.

We’ve got to get ourselves, back to the garden.” Joni Mitchell

see the beauty in the moment.
Open your heart up,

Fantastic August 2016 Planetary Alignment

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Crescent Moon/Earthshine, Venus and Regulus in Leo 4th August 2016

I had a wonderful time photographing the moon, planets and stars, on evenings and nights that weren’t overcast or raining, as this was an exceptional month!

August had a fantastic line-up of all bright planets in the evening and at night. The next time all five bright planets line-up is October 2018.

As well as seeing all the bright planets, there were several beautiful encounters between the Moon and bright planets, the planets themselves and the planets and bright stars which made August exquisite.

Also on the the 27/28th August was a very close conjunction of Jupiter and Venus, the closest it will be until November 2065. Wow! Weren’t we lucky! 🙂
