Interlude

Take a break to unwind to the calm within…

My new video Interlude, uses a a fractal animation I created in 1999, when all was new in this genre. Now I find the perfect complement to it, with my relaxing meditation tune, Interlude.  Sit right back and relax. Blessings to you, Bridget 🙂

New Dawn

Here’s a relaxing video and music I created, called NEW DAWN, and my poem GRACE.     Just sit back and relax and let the waves soothe you. 🙂

GRACE

Taste the sweet nectar of life,
allow it to fill you to the brim.
And, let the joy in your heart,
walk the landscape of your soul,
in the light of wonder,
with grace to guide your way…

I swim with the fish and all the creatures of the sea.

I travel the strings of pearls to the treasure chest of wisdom deep within my soul.

The pig that wanted to sway like the daisies.

Here’s a little fable and illustration I created for children :).

The pig that wanted to sway like the daisies by Bridget Cameron

A pig one day, came across a field of daisies that were waving in the wind. He enjoyed watching the way they swayed back and forth, back and forth and hoped that he could too, sway gently like them in the breeze.
He stood in the middle of the field and asked the wind to blow stronger for him, so that he may sway like the daisies. The wind heard his plea, and began to blow with gentle wisps. The pig could feel the wind against his body, but alas nothing happened.
He then, asked the wind to blow stronger. The wind blew with more might, and the pig felt the gusts of wind brushing against his body, yet found that he still stood still. Then, with his loudest voice he asked, “Please wind, blow with all your might!”
The wind took a deep breath and blew out an enormous tornado. The pig felt the wind come, and began to move at last, and move he did, for he was caught up in the funnel of wind and was swept away to another land. When he finally landed, he lay still in a field of gently swaying daisies.

Moral: Accept yourself for who and what you are. Accept others as they are.

Light Garden

I’m experimenting with new techniques on illustrations that I have created. I quite like this effect of mirrored reflections and refractions, in the shape of a shamrock.  I guess it’s a lucky symbol for the Irish at heart! What do you think?

Golden One

This is a picture from my children’s picture book, Tickle me Pink. This book introduces colour, tickles and rhymes to young children. I just love the image of this child, so carefree and happy. Such unbridled joy! 🙂

Shimmer Unicorn

A little poem for the magician within all of us!

Shimmer Unicorn

Shimmer Shimmer Unicorn,
runs through the snow,
through mountains and over hills,
with her horn aglow.

Chasing lots of rainbows,
she reaps what she sows.
In her dreams,
she often sees,
the future that will grow.

HOW DO I CREATE? My creative process.

GALACTIC CONCEPTION

I was asked this question by my dear friend Eiry Rees Thomas, author of The Flitwits http://theflitwits.com/author/eiry/. She wanted to know how I created, my exact creative process, and thought that my answer would be good for others to know also.

So here’s my response… Generally my images are spontaneous, that is, I feel moved to create and create from my imagination. Other times, I sit on something that caught my imagination, and I think about it, feel it, and sometimes use other sources of references to fine tune my ultimate creation.  I read a lot and assimilate as I go, never knowing when some seeds may be sprouted. Quite often images come to me when I look at the moon, and I future creations, then I dream more about it, and when the time is ripe, ‘out it pops!’

My writings are like that too, especially my poetry, which generally pops out as I’m writing it, yet was formed already in my dream state prior to its manifestation. With longer writings, I use this same spontaneous process, but dream, research and think a lot about it, before I write. At times it needs no editing, it just flows out perfectly, and other times, editing is needed to give it a more sound structure or to make it flow/ sound better.  I like to read it aloud, to hear inconsistencies, as music and rhythm is important. Some works need quite a lot of editing, in order to remove the superfIuous and/or inauthentic tones.

It is important to be critical of one’s work, in order to improve it. However, knowing when to stop analysing and critiquing is essential, as it can really dampen the process; take the joy out of it, and lead to more mistakes, that need to be rectified, leading down a spiral of more corrections. I do this sometimes, when I am too much in my ‘head’ or tired or in lots of pain. Knowing when to stop, is essential to the path of any writer/creator, as I don’t think we should take the joy out of our creations. Acceptance and letting go are part of that process too.

In a nutshell: Trust in ‘self’ and the creative process!

Happy creating!  Bridget Cameron :).

AT NIGHT, WHEN THE SEA CRADLES THE WOMB OF THE LAND

night set sea by Bridget Cameron

At night, when the sea cradles the womb of the land,
rippling liquid rainbows upon the sand,
I lie back on the dunes and look up at the moon,
moving from horizon to its zenith all too soon.
I hear the hush of the sea, its murmurs and swells,
and hear its rumbling, moving waves crashing like bells.
I feel the earth pulsing beneath me,
I feel the sea moving within me,
As I watch the stars above twinkle,
in a space-time distorted wrinkle,
Upon our Galactic home, Earth,
She is our hearth!

UNIVERSAL CREATIVITY

Image

In the synthesis of the moment,
In a symbiotic attunement,

Consciousness becomes aware of creation,
Sublimation and ideation.
Bursting forth its inspiration,
Delivering fruits of the imagination,
Whole in its acted manifestation.

Recreation in the moment,
in a symbiotic attunement.

BOURGANVILLEA MAGIC

BOURGANVILLEA MAGIC

It’s amazing what imagery can be created using mirroring. I created this magical cathedral by simply mirroring a section of of beautiful Bourganvillea, that grows over my back fence. If one looks closely, there are whole galaxies of images to be found. Can you see the butterfly at its centre? What can you see?
